Fury Platinum is excited to welcome Abby Dunning as our new 14U Head Coach. Abby brings an elite softball background, a championship mindset, and firsthand experience competing at the highest level of collegiate softball in the ACC.

A right-handed pitcher from the Chicago area, Abby built her reputation early as one of the top players in Illinois. At Marist High School, she was named the 2021 Gatorade Illinois Softball Player of the Year, posting a 26-1 record, a 0.28 ERA, 317 strikeouts, seven no-hitters, and two perfect games during her senior season. She also helped lead Marist to the 2021 IHSA Class 4A state championship and finished her high school career holding Marist records for career strikeouts, single-season strikeouts, ERA, and wins.

Abby continued her career at Boston College, where she became one of the Eagles’ top arms. In 2023, she threw a no-hitter against Illinois State in the season opener, striking out eight over seven innings. Her 2024 season was a breakout year: she appeared in 33 games, made 28 starts, won 14 games, struck out 172 batters, held opponents to a .207 batting average, and earned All-ACC Third Team, NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team, and ACC All-Tournament Team honors.

Some of Abby’s biggest performances came on the biggest stages. She threw a complete-game, two-hit shutout to lead Boston College past Syracuse in the 2024 ACC Tournament, and earlier that season she delivered a historic complete-game shutout over No. 16 Clemson, giving Boston College its first program win over the Tigers.

After graduating from Boston College, Abby transferred to Clemson University for her graduate/final collegiate season. At Clemson, she continued to prove herself against elite competition, appearing in 31 games, throwing 106 innings, earning nine wins, striking out 94 hitters, and recording Clemson’s eighth no-hitter in program history against Georgia Tech. She was also recognized as a CSC Academic All-District selection and an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.

For our 14U athletes, Abby represents exactly what we want in a coach: competitive excellence, composure under pressure, attention to detail, and a proven understanding of what it takes to compete at the next level. Her journey from elite travel ball and high school success to Boston College and Clemson gives our players a role model who has lived the path they aspire to.

We could not be more excited to have Coach Abby Dunning helping lead 14U Fury Platinum. Her knowledge, energy, and championship-level experience will be an incredible asset to our players and our program.
