JOE ROUMELIS
Coach Joe Roumelis returns in 2026 for his sixth year at the helm of Fury Platinum Northeast, leading the 18U National Roumelis squad, which has established itself as one of the most successful programs in the Northeast. In addition to his head coaching role, he continues to serve as the Northeast Division’s Director and Recruiting Coordinator. Since launching FPNE in fall 2021, Coach Joe’s teams have compiled an impressive 200-91-15 record (.678 winning pct.). Over that time, his rosters have featured:

In 2026, the 18U Roumelis squad completed its third consecutive 40-win season with a 44-13-2 record, competing on premier exposure fields in every event entered. It was also the third consecutive season in which every one of the team’s juniors and seniors was committed to play college softball by the end of the summer season.

We’ve also been fortunate to build great relationships with college coaches along the way, and I’m grateful for the support they’ve shown our athletes and our program.
With five years under our belt, it’s time to aim even higher. Our goal is to compete for Alliance National Championship recognition across four age divisions while giving our athletes the exposure and opportunities they need throughout the recruiting process. We want our players to keep pushing themselves, competing at the highest level, and ultimately arrive on their college campuses ready to make an impact.”

Coach Joe is also the Head Coach at La Salle Academy in Providence, RI, a nationally ranked high school softball program. Since joining the staff in 2023, the Rams have compiled a 96-6 overall record, won four consecutive Rhode Island Division I State Championships, and gone a perfect 16-0 in postseason play.
In 2025, La Salle broke into the national rankings, earning recognition from three national publications by season’s end. The Rams continued that success on the national stage in 2026, finishing the season ranked:

As a coach, Joe brings years of experience developing high-level softball pitchers. Known for his precision in pitch calling and individualized approach, he has helped develop some of the region’s top arms by building an arsenal around each pitcher’s strengths. His detailed approach to preparation and game planning helps pitchers succeed not only in showcase and tournament settings, but also prepares them to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level by understanding how they best succeed in getting batters out. Joe balances high standards with strong mentorship, helping athletes compete with confidence while continuing to grow as players and leaders. Beyond pitching, Joe brings a strong understanding of offensive game planning, including individualized hitting approaches, baserunning strategy, and using the short game to create and maximize scoring opportunities. On the defensive side, he builds defensive sets around game situations and player strengths, positioning fielders effectively and coordinating pitch calling with the overall defensive plan. A major part of Joe’s coaching philosophy is developing an athlete’s mental preparedness. By teaching players how to maintain focus and confidence, he helps them become more resilient, handle pressure, recover from mistakes, and maintain a competitive mindset in both games and practices.
Alongside assistant coach Jeff Pallotta, Coach Joe co-owns the H.I.T. Center of RI, a state-of-the-art indoor training facility that powers Fury’s year-round development. This is where Fury teams operate through winter training, working on individual hitting, catching, fielding, and live at-bats every offseason. The H.I.T. Center features 10 batting & pitching tunnels, Hack Attack machines, HitTrax analytics, and live hitting tunnels
AMANDA LAKIN
Head Coach Amanda Lakin brings Division I playing experience and an extensive high school coaching background to Fury Platinum.
A four-year varsity starter and two-year captain at East Providence High School, Amanda earned All-Division honors throughout her career, including three consecutive First Team selections. She was named Second Team All-State as a junior and First Team All-State as a senior in 2005.
Amanda continued her career at Drexel University, where she played four seasons for the Dragons’ Division I softball program from 2006 through 2009. A pitcher and shortstop, she led the team in saves as a freshman, recorded a one-hit shutout and later threw a complete-game two-hitter with eight strikeouts.
Her coaching experience includes work with the East Providence High School and Martin Middle School programs, private pitching instruction and travel softball. Amanda served as the varsity head coach at Moses Brown during the 2025 and 2026 seasons and joins the nationally-ranked La Salle Academy staff as a full-time assistant coach beginning in the spring of 2027.
As a Fury Platinum 18U head coach, Amanda brings a strong understanding of high school-aged player development, pitching, team leadership, and the preparation required to compete at the collegiate levels.
CRAIG STINSON
Craig Stinson brings championship-level playing experience and a strong player-development background to Fury Platinum. A Rhode Island native, Craig first competed on the national stage as the catcher for Cranston Western’s 1996 Little League Baseball World Series team. He later helped Bishop Hendricken capture the 1999 Rhode Island state championship, won the 2002 RI Gatorade Player of the Year award, and continued playing in college at Texas A&M University.
At Texas A&M, Craig developed into one of the Big 12’s top catchers. He earned Second Team All-Big 12 recognition in 2004 and concluded his collegiate career by helping the Aggies win the 2007 Big 12 Tournament championship. Craig was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after batting 11-for-19 with nine RBI during the event. He was subsequently selected by the Washington Nationals in the 12th round of the 2007 MLB Draft and continued his playing career in the Nationals’ minor-league system.
In 2024, he helped coach Cranston Western Little League Softball to the New England Regional championship and an appearance in the Little League Softball World Series. His development approach emphasizes purposeful practice, situational awareness, preparation, accountability, and building the softball IQ players need to perform confidently under pressure. Craig was also selected as an Extra Inning Softball Coach Influencer for his perspective on the importance of practice in developing complete players.
At Fury Platinum, Craig will use the lessons gained throughout his high-level playing and coaching career to help athletes improve fundamentals, understand the game at a deeper level, and develop the habits required to compete successfully in demanding environments.
ABBY DUNNING
Fury Platinum is excited to welcome Abby Dunning as our new 14U Head Coach for the Fall of 2026. Abby brings an elite softball background and firsthand experience competing at the highest level of collegiate softball in the ACC.
A right-handed pitcher from the Chicago area, Abby was one of the top players in Illinois during her high school career at Marist High School. In 2021, she was named Gatorade Illinois Softball Player of the Year after posting a 26-1 record, a 0.28 ERA, 317 strikeouts, seven no-hitters, and two perfect games. She helped lead Marist to the IHSA Class 4A state championship and graduated holding multiple school pitching records.
Abby continued her career at Boston College, where she became one of the Eagles’ top pitchers. Her breakout 2024 season included 14 wins, 172 strikeouts, a .207 opponent batting average, and All-ACC Third Team, NFCA All-Region Second Team, and ACC All-Tournament Team honors. She delivered major performances in big moments, including complete-game shutouts against Syracuse in the ACC Tournament and No. 16 Clemson.
Abby later transferred to Clemson for her final collegiate season, where she earned nine wins, struck out 94 hitters, threw Clemson’s eighth no-hitter in program history, and received CSC Academic All-District and Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition.
For our 14U athletes, Abby represents competitive excellence, composure, attention to detail, and a proven understanding of what it takes to compete at the next level. We are thrilled to have Coach Abby Dunning helping lead the next wave of Fury Platinum Northeast stars at the 14U level.
BRIAN RONAYNE
Fury Platinum Northeast is proud to welcome Brian Ronayne of Attleboro, MA as the head coach of its new 12U Team. Ronayne brings an impressive blend of high-level playing experience, local softball leadership, and a strong development-focused approach to the young athletes in our program.
As a collegiate athlete at UMass Dartmouth, Ronayne was a standout baseball player and one of the most productive hitters in the Little East Conference during his career. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 1998, hitting over .400 with power while earning First Team All-Conference honors. He continued that success throughout his college career, again receiving all-conference recognition and helping UMass Dartmouth capture the 2000 Little East Conference tournament, where he was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. His offensive production and competitive presence left a lasting mark on the Corsairs program.
Beyond his playing career, Ronayne has become a respected figure in the Attleboro-area softball community. He has served in leadership and coaching roles with local girls’ fastpitch and travel programs, helping organize competitive opportunities while developing his young athletes.
Ronayne’s background makes him an excellent fit for Fury Platinum’s 12U program. He understands what it takes to compete at a high level, with his daughter Lola being a UMass-Amherst commit and member of the successful Fury Platinum 18U Roumelis team. The habits they formed bringing Lola up the ranks will be taught to our young players in 12U. His combination of experience, leadership, and commitment to player development gives Fury Platinum 12U Ronayne a strong foundation as the team begins its journey.
